NASCAR Hopes To Make Concussion Test Mandatory

NASCAR would like take a hard stance on head injuries.

The sport will likely introduce a mandatory baseline concussion test for all drivers, and NASCAR officials will continue to urge all drivers to get an ImPACT test before the season.

ImPACT tests{}are used to assess concussions and determine when an injured athlete can safely return to action. NASCAR senior vice president of racing operations says the ImPACT test will likely be mandatory in 2015.

Last season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. missed two races during the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship with a concussion.
