President Barack Obama will welcome the reigning BCS National Champion University of Alabama football team to the White House next week, marking the third visit for the Crimson Tide in the past four years.
The team will make the one-day trip to the United States capitol on Wednesday, March 6. The back-to-back BCS champions will be honored for the team's incredible 13-win season and winning the 15th national championship in school history with a 42-14 rout of Notre Dame in Miami on January 7.
The President will also continue his tradition of honoring sports teams for their efforts both on and off the field by recognizing the Alabama's efforts in giving back to the Tuscaloosa community.
On January 10, Obama called head coach Nick Saban to congratulate him on his team's latest championship, saying "he and the Crimson Tide are beginning to make this a habit."
