NCAA Football Looks To Crack Down On Hits To Defenseless Players

College football intends to crack down on players who target and hit defenseless players.

The NCAA Football Rules Committee unanimously approved a proposal that says hits on defenseless players above the shoulders with{}result in an{}automatic ejection.

If the Playing Rules Oversight Panel approves the plan next month, the rule will go into effect for the 2013 season.

Targeting a defenseless player will continue to be a 15 yard penalty.
