Negro Southern League Museum to be designed for Birmingham

A Negro Southern League Museum could be coming to Birmingham.

Dorsey Architects & Associates are approved to design the $2 million dollar project, which would be built next to Region Field where the Barons play.

The Birmingham Design Review Committee approved the design, site plan and materials. The architecture model and a landscaping plan must be approved before construction can begin on the museum.

The Negro Southern League Museum will be a two story gallery with a theater and restaurant on the first floor, and an indoor bar and outdoor terrace on the second floor.

The museum site is between 15th Street and First Avenue South behind the B&A Warehouse.
