Birmingham neighborhood leaders are remembering Councilwoman Maxine Parker after sudden death Tuesday.
Leaders are speaking with ABC 33/40 about the late city leader as well as the impact she made in communities in north Birmingham.
Parker was a longtime Collegeville neighborhood president, and members of that community tell ABC 33/40 they are worried about what will become of her environmental and revitalization efforts there.
Parker's official cause of death and funeral arrangements have not been released at this time.
City leaders say they will appoint a District 4 representative soon, and will hold a special election sometime in 2013.
Stay with ABC 33/40 for more on this developing story.
