New York man accused of traveling to Alabama to meet teenage girl charged with sex abuse, sodomy
GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Marshall County sheriff's officials say a western New York man accused of traveling to see a teenage girl he met over the Internet has been arrested on sex charges.
Sheriff's officials from the northern Alabama county say 20-year-old Dakota Pielow, of Dundee, N.Y., was booked into the county jail on charges of sexual abuse and sodomy.
Sheriff Scott Walls say Pielow rode a bus from New York and traveled more than 900 miles to Alabama to meet with the 14-year-old girl. Authorities say Pielow ran from the house when the girl's mother caught them together and he was later arrested in Scottsboro.
The man is being held without bond and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
