NFL veteran Kerry Rhodes set to host health and fitness program in Bessemer
NFL player Kerry Rhodes wants his hometown to get fit. The Bessemer native will be at Bessemer's Legacy YMCA this weekend to host a "Now Let's Get Fit" program.
"Now Let's Get Fit" is a nation-wide health, fitness and quality of life event designed to inform communities of health risks and higher costs of living associated with obesity.
Rhodes and Tami Farrell, a former Miss California, will host a get fit family day on Saturday, which will introduce exercises that can be done at home, school or work for up to one hour per day. The event will consist of free obesity health related testing, screening, and educational material on nutrition and healthy eating on a budget.
Rhodes will team with Dancing with the Stars Karina Smirnoff on Monday for two adult fitness workout classes.
Both events will be at the Legacy YMCA in Bessemer and are free to the public.
