# No. 1 Florida rules 2014 All-SEC team, individual award selections

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The annual All-Southeastern Conference teams and awards selected by the head coaches were announced Tuesday with the No. 1 Florida Gators nearly sweeping the six individual accolades.

To go along with its two first-team All-SEC team members, Florida won five individual awards including the league's coach and player of the year in Billy Donovan and Scotty Wilbekin, respectively. Wilbekin finished the regular season by averaging 12.9 points per game and nearly four assists per contest.

Patric Young, the Gators' senior center who led his team in blocks with 28, was named the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year as well as the Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Alabama had two players recognized in senior Trevor Releford, whose 18.8 points-per-game average earned him first-team honors, and freshman Shannon Hale, who was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team.

Auburn's Chris Denson, who spent much of the season as the league's top scorer, was named to the All-SEC Second Team. He finished the season averaging 19.2 points per game.
