North Carolina eliminates LSU at College World Series

LSU fell to North Carolina 4-2 Tuesday, eliminating the Tigers from the College World Series.

LSU baseball's stay in Omaha was brief.

The Tigers dropped an elimination game to North Carolina, 4-2 and is out of the College World Series tournament after dropping it's first two games.

It was LSU's first appearance in the CWS since it won the national title in 2009.

North Carolina's Brian Holberton hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Tar Heels pitcher Trent Thornton pitched into the 8th for the win.

LSU stranded 13 base runners.
