Number of Meningitis cases increases, none reported in Alabama

There have now been eight deaths and as many as 105 cases of fungal meningitis in nine states, says The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.{} The outbreak has been linked to steroid shots used for back pain that were produced by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts. The company has recalled the steroid which was sent to clinics in 23 states.{} The nine states with reported cases have not changed.{} There have not been any reported cases in Alabama.
