"Numbers were low" for Saturday's Hispanic voter registration
BIRMINGHAM - AL —
According to a spokesperson for the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Saturday's voter registration drive, which was specifically aimed at the Hispanic community, had a low turnout.
The registration drive was at the BCRI, in an effort to increase the number of Hispanic voters in the state of Alabama, before November's general election.
Sponsors for the event say the drive was part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
