Birmingham police: Love triangle leads to deadly stabbing

Birmingham police have charged a man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Ensley over the weekend, and authorities say the incident stemmed over an argument over a woman.

William Hood, 30, is charged with manslaughter in the death of 26-year-old Tyrone Hampton, who was stabbed to death Saturday night in the 300 block of 14th Street.

According to police, Hood and the victim "exchanged words" over a woman both men had reportedly dated, and the encounter quickly escalated into a physical altercation and the subsequent fatal stabbing of Hampton.

Hood is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
