Some Jefferson County ratepayers have decided not to continue fighting the county's bankruptcy exit plan.Attorneys representing the Wilson group filed a notice of dismissal of its appeal in federal court. They were one of two groups appealing county's more than four billion dollar exit plan.
The plan was approved by Judge Thomas Bennett in November. It calls for the refinancing of 1.8 billion dollars through higher sewer rates.
A group is continuing its appeal because of what they feel is an unfair burden on ratepayers.
