One man dead, three others hurt in interstate pile-up
Birmingham police say last nights thunder storms may be responsible for a three car wreck on I-59/20 around 11:30 P.M. The accident occurred in the westbound lanes between Arkadelphia Road and 20th St. in Ensley killing one person and injuring three others. According to Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards as traffic slowed due to the weather, one car rear ended another. The collision caused the vehicle to slant left and another car T-boned it. Lt. Edwards says a 62 year old man was killed but has not released his name. The other two drivers involved in the accident and a passenger were transported to UAB hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
