One man is dead after a Sunday morning shooting in Troy
TROY - AL —
The Troy Police Department confirms an arrest has been made in connection to a Sunday morning shooting at the Troy Crossing apartment complex.
21-year-old Dimitri Miles is now being held in the Pike County Jail on a $100,000 bond and is facing murder charges.
According to Troy police, Miles was a walk-on football player for Troy University.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Marquise Jermaine McClendon of Troy.
One man has been killed after a shooting in Troy.
It happened at the Troy Crossing apartment complex on South Brundidge Street. Investigators are saying the resident of the apartment where the shooting happened was not home at the time, which was around 10:00 a.m., Sunday.
Video taken from a witness' cell phone shows emergency crews transporting the victim in an ambulance to Troy Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim's name has not been released.
Police say they do not have a suspect in custody.
"We're looking at every direction," Lt. Bryan Weed said. "So, right now, we don't have anybody in custody."
