Birmingham police are investigating the city's 10th homicide in eight days after a teenager was gunned down outside a convenience store near Rickwood Field Tuesday afternoon..
At around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot at Justin's Convenience Store located at 224 12th Street West, which is just a couple blocks from the historic baseball stadium.
Police arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Rescue crews transported the victim to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Sgt. Johnny Williams later identified the man as 19-year-old Edwin Wayne.

According to police, the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation between Wayne and another black male inside the store. The argument continued outside before the suspect opened fire before fleeing the scene on foot.
No arrests have been made.
