Our Lady of Sorrows celebrates Veterans Day

Today at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic school in Homewood, hundreds of children honored the men and women who serve this country. An assembly took place, in which Boy Scouts presented the nations colors. Several patriotic songs were sung. And prayers were offered to those who have fought and died for this country.

The highlight of the assembly, was when several veterans from different military backgrounds got up and spoke to the students.

The message they wanted to get across, was for these young men and women to know what was given for their freedom.

Lieutenant Colonel David Sparacio of the US Army Reserve says, "They need to understand exactly what veterans do for their country and make sure they honor and respect their veterans for years to come."
