Ousted director of Birmingham Housing Authority gets temporary injunction

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Just days after being ousted as the executive director of the Birmingham Housing Authority, Naomi Truman has been temporarily reinstated to her position thanks to a temporary restraining order signed by a Jefferson County Circuit Court judge.

Truman, who was fired on Monday, was granted a 10-day "temporary injunctive relief" by Judge Carole Smitherman pending a hearing.{}

After her termination, the housing authority board appointed Marshall Jackson, who has served as legal counsel for the past 12 years.

A spokesman for the housing authority board didn't say why Truman was fired.
