Pace is the theme as Auburn begins Spring Practice

Auburn football has the need for speed.

It sounds like it could take a while to learn how to deliver the pace.

"The main thing is, we just have to learn how to practice at the pace and intensity and the tempo both offensively and defensively," Gus Malzahn said after his first Spring Practice as head coach.

Receiver Quan Bray says the goal is to run a play within three seconds of the whistle.

Two of the notable position changes on the first day of practice were at linebacker. LaDarius Owens and Chris Landrum practiced at that position. Owens was highly recruited out of Bessemer's Jess Lanier High School as a linebacker three years ago,{}but moved to defensive end last season.
