Pain at the pump expected to ease, eventually

If you're longing for lower gas prices, you're going to have to wait a little longer.

The cost{}has{}steadily risen{}in recent weeks, and the national average now stands at{}$3.87{}a gallon, according to{}Triple A.{}{}That is up{}16 cents from a month ago, and 24 cents over this time last year.

Prices usually decline following the Labor Day weekend, but there several factors keeping prices high.{} Among them:{}tension in the middle east and recent refinery shut downs{}due to hurricane Isaac.

Expectations are for gas prices to start to decline and stay that way for a few months now that refineries have switched over from higher priced summer blend of gas to winter blend.
