Parents planning meal to thank teachers, staff for keeping children overnight

Some parents want to thank teachers and staff for braving the storm with their children overnight. They plan on treating them to a special meal.Helena mother, Haley Wood, is raising money for a meal from Home Plate Cooking. It will be a treat for the teachers and staff at all three Helena schools. It's a way to thank them for keep the students safe overnight during the winter storm.

Saturday, parents and students went to the restaurant to make donations and sign cards.{}{}{}

"Within probably, I would say, ten or fifteen minutes, we already had probably five or six hundred dollars pledged to be donated from several families and they are continually coming in.{} It's been overwhelming, It's amazing," said Wood of the amount raised so far.The goal is just over two thousand dollars. Any extra money will be donated to police and firefighters who helped get those students home safely.
