Parents use smartphone to calm children
Baby boomer children remember their parents demanding they go to bed and be quiet! Apparently, that is not how it's done any more.
A new survey from QUALCOMM finds more than half of all parents (53%) use their smartphone or tablet to calm their children. Yes, there are apps for that! Games and songs turn the device into a calming mechanism.
More than 60% of those surveyed believe it's fine for a child as young as eight to own a smartphone or tablet.
Most every mobile user has stored photos on the device. Forty-one percent have used their phone at weddings; 13 percent pull them out at funerals.
Eighteen percent have used the device to watch a live event.
