      Birmingham sports talk host Paul Finebaum tweeted on Saturday that Auburn University has begun the process of replacing head football coach Gene Chizik.

      "A search committee has quietly begun reaching out to potential candidates to replace Chizik at Auburn." Finebaum tweeted on Saturday before the Iron Bowl.

      Just two years removed from a BCS Championship, Chizik and the Tigers are just 3-8 this season with wins over Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State and Alabama A&M, and other than a 12-10 loss to LSU, they have been dominated in SEC play.

      On Tuesday, it was reported that the NCAA is investigating Chizik's football program. Finebaum told the Crimson White earlier this week that barring a monumental upset of No. 2 Alabama on Saturday, Chizik will be fired soon after the Iron Bowl.

      "Short of the biggest upset in history, Chizik will be fired before dusk on Monday." Finebaum said.
