Pavlof Volcano continues to erupt, glow seen 37 miles away

Scientists are volcano watching in Alaska wherethe Pavlof Volcano continues to erupt. The Alaska Volcano Observatory says acontinuous cloud of ash, steam and gas can be seen 20,000 feet above sea levelwith lava eruptions several hundred feet into the air. Reports of a glow fromthe mountain are coming in from Cold Bay, 37 miles from the volcano.

The volcano is among the most active in theAleutian arc, with nearly 40 known eruptions.
