The Jefferson County human resources receiver is expanding his staff, and county leaders didn't object to the extra cost.A federal judge approved the hiring of a chief administrative analyst and a personnel technician to assist HR receiver Ronald Sims. Their combined salaries are roughly 142 thousand dollars.
Stefanie Turner will be hired as the chief administrative analyst at a pay of more than 93 thousand dollars.
Adrian Wormley-Davis will be the personnel technician with a salary of nearly 49 thousand.
The new salaries bring pay for the court appointed receiver and his four member staff to more than 600 thousand dollars. Under court orders, the county must pay it.
Sims was appointed by the court last fall to oversee hiring practices. The appointment came after the county was found to be in violation of a decades old discrimination order. That order called for a change in hiring and promotion practices to prevent discrimination against women and minorities.
