Pedestrian struck and killed in Adamsville, driver faces questioning (Update)

Update:A Gardendale man has been arrested in connection with an accident Friday morning in Adamsville that killed a pedestrian, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.Joseph Pool, 32, is charged with manslaughter after the truck he was driving along Highway 78 near Hedgewood Drive struck and killed a man. Pool, who was taken into custody at the scene for questioning, is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $30,000 bond.According to investigators, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident.The victim has yet to be identified.Initial Report:JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. -- A man was struck and killed by a truck Friday morning in Adamsville, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.According to Sgt. Jack Self, the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. at Forestdale Boulevard and Hedgewood Drive, where a man was hit by a vehicle and later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken into custody for questioning as an investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
