Pell City man arrested for series of burglaries

24 year old Erron Guyton of Pell City has admitted that he is responsible for a late January series of burglaries in northern and western Jefferson County. The burglaries occurred in the areas of Corner, Warrior and Johns. Detectives discovered that Guyton had been attempting to sell or pawn property stolen in the burglaries at a Forestdale area pawn shop. He fled the scene before deputies arrived, but they were able to identify him and the car he was driving. Pawned items linked the Guyton to four burglaries in northern Jefferson County. Deputies eventually arrested him at his mother's apartment in Pell City on February 19th.

Guyton was charged with five counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, two counts of Theft of Property 1st Degree, and three counts of Theft of Property 2nd Degree. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with bonds totaling $156,000.
