Penn State does away with football tradition

Penn State football fans will no longer sing 'Sweet Caroline' while cheering on the Nittany Lions.

The university pulled the song from its playlist. The "Altoona Mirror" newspaper first{}reported the move was because of what some might consider racy lyrics, in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Penn State officials say that report was wrong. They say the playlist is updated every year and 'Sweet Caroline' simply wasn't a part of that update this year.

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was convicted in June of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15 year period. Sandusky was sentenced to prison. He says he is innocent.
