Piedmont man, 23, killed in two-vehicle accident in Calhoun County

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. -- A Piedmont man died Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Calhoun County, Alabama State Troopers said today.Jeremy Owen, 23, was killed just before 6 p.m. after the car he was driving stuck another vehicle on Alabama 144 before leaving the road and hitting a tree. The crash happened at mile marker 23.7, which is around three miles west of Alexandria. Owen, according to state troopers, wasn't wearing a seat belt. An investigation remains ongoing. A few hours after the traffic fatality in Calhoun Co., a Jasper man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Walker County. Read more by clicking here.
