Piedmont man identified as 1 of 3 bodies pulled from truck submerged in Weiss Lake

One of the three bodies pulled from a submerged truck in Weiss Lake last week has been identified.

Authorities positively identified one of the male victims as 41-year-old Bobby DeWayne Hyatt of Piedmont. Identification is pending on the other two victims, and additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

The bodies were sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for autopsy and assistance in the identification process.

The Cherokee Co. Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident as a traffic accident.
