Authorities in Pike County say an Alabama man has been charged with shooting his two teenage sons and killing one of them during a family argument.
44-year-old Sammy Dee Jackson was arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder.
Investigators say Jackson was arguing with his wife at their mobile home and then he turned a 12-Gauge shotgun on his sons.
Deputies say Jackson fatally shot his 18-year-old son and then shot his 16-year-old son in the leg, who jumped from a window to escape before he was taken to the hospital.
"A lot of stress and pain and heart aches and stuff like that," David Jackson said. "Just a bad, tragic day that went on in our family."
"There is a history of domestic problems here, but you never dream of it coming to this where a father shoots his two children," Pike County Sheriff, Russell Thomas, said.
Jackson was being held Saturday on a $150,000 bond. It was not known if Jackson had an attorney.
