Police continue to offer thoughts, prayers for Birmingham PD

{}Law enforcement officers from throughout the area offered to help search for the shooter who shot and killed an off duty Birmingham police officer Saturday night. The Birmingham Police Department has simply posted the blue line for its fallen officer.Officer Keary Hollis was the off duty officer shot and killed on Bush Boulevard in Ensley Saturday night. Police say he got into an argument with a man and the man shot him. Hollis, a five year veteran on the force, was pronounced dead on the scene.A fellow officer was on duty responding to an accident on I-59 South near Arkadelphia Road around the same time. He was hit by a car and taken to the hospital. He's undergone surgery for several broken bones.
