      Coroner: Body found in East Lake Park identified as missing fisherman

      Birmingham fire and rescue crews have recovered a body found floating in the water at East Lake Park Tuesday afternoon, police said.

      According to Chief Deputy Randy Christian, a man walking around the lake spotted the body{} of a man matching the description of the missing 61-year-old fisherman near a pier shortly before 3 p.m.

      The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed to ABC 33/40 tonight that the body found is that of Glenn Paul Florence, who was last seen Sunday night after leaving a note for his son saying he was going fishing at the park.

      Recovery crews retrieved Florence's body from the water just before 5 p.m.
