Police pick up wanted suspect, discover meth lab

29 year old Matthew David Ivey is now in the Shelby County jail. He faces several charges for unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance after a tip lead police to the wanted suspect and a meth lab inside his hotel room.Tuesday, an anonymous person tipped police off to Ivey's whereabouts at the Oak Mountain Lodge. Officers arrested the suspect on outstanding charges from Tuscaloosa. They say officers also discovered a haze inside Ivey's hotel room and what appeared to be a meth lab,The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force was called in to remove the lab. Police are still investigating and say more people may be involved.Ivey is charged with unlawful manufacture of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is 267 thousand dollars.
