Preliminary hearing rescheduled for Alabaster mother

The mother charged with reckless murder of her 19-month old son is expected back in court next month.

Sommer Wilford's preliminary hearing was originally scheduled for April 2, 2014. Her attorney filed a motion asking for a new court date saying he did not have enough time to prepare for the hearing. He says Wilford was arrested on February 28th and released from jail on bond on March 21, 2014. He cites because of the length of her time in jail, he has not had time to prepare. He also cited in the motion his attempt to have her evaluated, but because of her jail time, he says this has not happened.

Wilford is charged with reckless murder in the death of her 19-month old son, Jayden Allen. Allen's body was discovered in a burned out car last month that crashed along Kent Dairy Road. Wilford was not hurt.{} She was released on a $300,000 bond last month.{}

She is now expected in court on May 7th.
