Prescott House honored with FBI's Community Leadership Award

Birmingham's Prescott House and its contributions to the community received a special honor Tuesday morning.{}{}

The Prescott House{}is the recipient of the 2012 FBI Director's Community Leadership Award.{}{}"We are extremely fortunate to have the Prescott House in our community.{} It assists not only us, but our state and local colleagues immeasurably," said Special Agent in Charge Richard D. Schwein, Jr.

Prescott House Executive Director Mary Murphy accepted the award.{} She will travel to Washington, D.C.{}in April{}where she, and other recipients from across the country, will be honored by FBI{}Director Robert Mueller.

The Prescott House is the nation's second oldest children's advocacy center in the United States.{} It provides services to children who may have witnessed or were victims of abuse or trauma.
