Prosecutors to Make Announcement in Fungal Meningitis Outbreak

Prosecutors will make an announcement today the investigation into a fungal meningitis outbreak that killed dozens of people.The CDC believes tainted steroid injections from the New England Compounding Center in Massachusetts caused the 20 states, 751 patients became infected; 64 of them died.The outbreak killed 19 people in Michigan alone.That state's attorney general is seeking criminal charges.He and a US Attorney from Massachusetts plan to make an announcement regarding the case this morning.The New England Compounding Center filed for bankruptcy last December.A state pharmacy voted to revoke the company's license and the licenses of the company's three principal pharmacists.
