Good news as we head into this evening. Central Alabama is no longer under and organized threat for severe weather. We are still expecting a line of rain and a few thunderstorms to move through later this evening and into tonight. Right now the timing seems to be from 8 PM in NW Alabama until shortly after midnight for the Birmingham metro area. Any storms in the line that form should be weakening as they move farther to the south. The biggest threat tonight from the storms is going to be gusty wind. At this time, the storms are expected to remain below severe limits. But, remember that for a storm to be severe winds need to be at least 58 mph. So we could still have some wind gust up to 40 or even 50 in the stronger storms that form. Tomorrow is looking much brighter as sunshine returns!
