Rain floods Thompson High School weight, locker rooms

It could cost more than $20,000 to repair flood damage to Thompson High School's weight and locker rooms caused by Monday's storms.{}

School officials said when the heavy rains flooded a storm drain near the training facility, water began to flow down concrete stairs. Eventually, water pressure forced the facility's door to open, and water poured inside.{}

Shelby County Schools Assistant Superintendent Tom Ferguson said the school is covered under the district's insurance. He said the facility will be repaired before school starts.{}
