One Birmingham non-profit is helping to make a difference in the tornado torn town of Moore, Oklahoma.
Refuel Ministries left Birmingham, Thursday and arrived in Oklahoma Friday.
Since then, they have been cooking and serving more than 1,200 pounds of food for those affected by the recent tornado and for those helping in the aftermath.
"The destruction is overwhelming," Darrin Jarvis said. "While we can observe the property damage we are also witnessing the emotions of those who come and are so thankful for our willingness to serve them."
About 10 volunteers went on the trip, including people from Birmingham, Boaz and Sylacauga.
