Today was a day filled with speaking engagements.... First I stopped by Briarwood Christian School.
Students there are really excited about their first Relay for Life event this Saturday April 5th. If you want to stop by it's from 12 to 10 PM.
But to see the work that these young people have done to get ready for their first Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society is inspiring. Usually students have a year to get things in place. The Briarwood students only had since February to get things in place. A snowy winter also put the brakes on some of the planning. But even though they have had obstacles... They have just about reached their goal of 40-thousand dollars.
From videos to ice tea sales to planning the days events... These young people deserve a pat on the back for a job well done. Much of the money raised will stay in our own community going to support Hope Lodge , research and education programs.
