Rep. Sewell to escort South Korean President

Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell will escort the South Korean President during a Joint Meeting of Congress. {}House Leadership chose Sewell. {}She will meet and escort President Park Geun-hye.

Geun-hye is the first woman to be elected as President of South Korea. {}She will address the House and Senate at the U.S. Capitol today May 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. EST. Geun-hye met with President Barack Obama early in the week.{}"I am honored that I was chosen by House Leadership to meet and escort South Korean President Park Geun-hye," Sewell said. "I look forward to sharing Alabama's appreciation for Hyundai's strong economic presence in my district. I also am honored to meet President Park who has made a commitment to strengthening workforce development and national security in South Korea."{}Rep. Sewell is on the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
