Alabama to pay Southern Miss $1.4 million for home game

Alabama is willing to pay to play at Bryant Denny Stadium.

The Tide will reportedly pay Southern Miss $1.4 million for a home game next season. The Eagles will play the Tide at Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 13.

TideSports.com reported financial figure after it got the information through the Southern Miss' Office of General Counsel.

The value of the home game is the second largest payout Alabama's ever offered an opponent.

The Tide agreed to pay Colorado State $3 million for a two game series. The Rams made $1.5 for playing at Bryant Denny Stadium last season and will return for another game at the same price in 2015 or 2017.

Alabama will play non-conference home games against Southern Miss, Florida Atlantic and Western Carolina in 2014. The total combined payout for those games is reportedly $2.88 million.
