Report: Auburn hires N.C. State's Tom Holliday to be pitching coach

AUBURN - AL — North Carolina State associate head coach and pitching coach Tom Holliday will reportedly join Sunny Golloway's staff at Auburn.Holliday will serve in the same capacity that he did at N.C. State, according to the Herald-Standard newsource.Kendall Rogers of Perfect Game USA was the first to report the hire earlier this week.Holliday, who is the father of St. Louis Cardinals outfield Matt Holliday, has spent the last seven seasons at N.C. State. He's also been an assistant at Miami, Arizona, Oklahoma State and Texas in his coaching career.Auburn baseball finished 28-28 and missed the SEC Tournament in 2014, Golloway's first season as head coach. The Tigers announced last month that pitching coach Scott Foxhall would not return after the pitching staff finished in the bottom half of the league in opponent batting average (.254) and strikeouts (333)
