Around 1pm Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to the Hometown Texaco on Skyland Blvd after receiving a call about a suspicious person. The caller said that a male was inside the store with a shirt on his head and what appeared to be a handgun in his pocket.
When officers arrived, the suspect ran out of the store into the woods. Officers chased the suspect and set up a perimeter around the woods. The suspect was then located and transported to the Tuscaloosa Police Department for questioning.
While questioning the suspect, Investigators found probable cause to arrest him for three previous robberies. The first robbery was at the same Texaco on August 25th. The other two counts are from a robbery at the Family Dollar Store on 26th Avenue on October 10th. The suspect was charged with the robbery of the store and an individual inside the store.
23 year old Darrius Rashard Cabbil of Tuscaloosa was charged with 3 Counts of Robbery 1st Degree. He was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $180,000.00 Bond.
