Samford ready for Senior Day, Wofford

The Samford football team held its final full practice of the week with a one-hour workout in shorts and helmets Thursday afternoon at Seibert Stadium. The Bulldogs are preparing for the final home game of the 2012 season Saturday against sixth-ranked Wofford.{}Wofford enters the game with a record of 7-1 overall and 5-1 in Southern Conference play. Samford and Wofford are meeting for the 10th time, with Samford holding a 5-4 advantage in the series. The teams last met on Sept. 24, 2011, with Wofford coming away with a 38-23 win in Spartanburg, S.C.{}Samford head coach Pat Sullivan said he has been impressed with what he has seen from Wofford on film this week.{}"Wofford is an outstanding football team with a great running back (Eric Breitenstein)," Sullivan said. "He's one of the top running backs in the country. They are a well-coached team, and we'll have to be at the top of our game to have a chance."{}Samford is currently 5-3 overall and 3-3 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs took last week off from competition. The team last played on Oct. 20, falling at Chattanooga, 20-13. Sullivan said he felt good about the week of preparation his team has had.{}"We've had a good week of practice," Sullivan said. "I'm excited about this weekend. It's the last home game for our seniors, who have meant a lot to our program.
