Script Your Future program launches to educate about RX use

When it comes to your medicine, how carefully do you follow instructions?

Governor Robert Bentley,{}a physician himself,{}helped launch a national campaign called Script Your Future.{} The goal is to educate consumers on the importance of taking medication as directed. Nearly three out of four Americans admit they don't always take their medication as directed.

Non-adherence is responsible for more than one third of medicine-related hospitalizations and nearly 125,000 deaths in the United States each year.{}{}"We want the people in Alabama to be healthy. It certainly lowers the cost of healthcare, and we want them to live longer," Bentley{}said.{}"You do that by taking your medications and doing it regularly and doing it right," he added.

Through the Script Your Future program,{}you{}can sign up for free text messages and management sheets,{}reminding you{}to take your{}medications.{} There is a link with more information in the "As Seen on TV Section," which is on the home page.
