TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. -- Authorities continued their search for a missing Fayetteville woman Friday after locating her vehicle in Sylacauga, the Talladega County Sheriff's Office told ABC 33/40 reporter Sarah Snyder.

According to Chief Deputy Ken Flowers,{} a van belonging to 51-year-old Angela Owings Whitworth, who went missing Tuesday, was found Thursday in a wooded area off of Wiregrass Road. There were no signs of Whitworth, prompting deputies to continue their search, which is being conducted on the ground and through the air.

Whitworth was last seen leaving her home to go pick up transcripts at B.B. Comer High School, but she never made it to the campus and she's been missing ever since. It is believed she stopped at Rick's General Store in Fayetteville shortly after leaving her house.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to please contact the sheriff's office at 256-249-3811 or Sgt. Josh Tubbs at 256-245-5121.
