Search and recovery efforts continue for missing boater along Coosa River
TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. -- The search resumed Wednesday morning for a missing boater along Talladega County's Coosa River. Shortly before 9 a.m., search and rescue crews continued their recovery efforts for the victim who went missing Tuesday afternoon following a racing boat accident that sent another person to UAB Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities in boats were assisted in the search by an Alabama State Troopers helicopter, which hovered above, looking for any signs of the victim.While the missing boater has yet to be located, area firefighters were able to locate several pieces of the wreckage, including the boat's fuel cell, head rest and engine cover. They also found life jackets floating near the crash site.
