Shelby County deputies investigating Alabaster homicide

Shelby County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a homicide after a 52-year-old man was found dead in his home Thursday in the 1200 block of Highway 26 in Alabaster.

An autopsy revealed Friday that the victim, William David Moore, Jr., did not die of natural causes, but officials haven't released an official cause of death.

"I never understand the senseless loss of life, but I do understand the importance of arresting those responsible for it," said Sheriff Chris Curry. "As I send my thoughts and prayers to the Moore family, we are working diligently to identify and arrest whoever did this. As we have shown in the past, we will not quit until we bring some closure to the family."

The victim's black 2003 Hummer HU2 with Alabama license number 58G91P0 is missing. If anyone has information in the case, contact the Shelby County Sheriff's Office immediately at 205-669-4181.{}
